ELIGIBILITY AND DOCUMENTS REQUIRED

  • Can I open an account via UBL Digital App?
    • Yes, you can open a UBL Smart Account with just your original CNIC by tapping on ‘Open Smart Account’ on the home screen.
  • Who can open a UBL Smart Account?
    • Resident Pakistanis with a valid CNIC and a mobile number registered to their CNIC can open a UBL Smart Account by downloading the UBL Digital App and tapping on ‘Open Smart Account’ on the home screen.
  • What documents are required to open this account?
    • Just your original CNIC.
  • If my CNIC is expired will I still be eligible to open a UBL Smart Account?
    • No, a valid CNIC is required to open this account.
  • My mobile number is not registered against my CNIC, can I still apply for a UBL Smart Account?
    • Unfortunately, you cannot. As per State Bank of Pakistan’s requirement, UBL has to authenticate your mobile number with your CNIC, and in case the two don’t match we cannot proceed with account opening.
  • Do I need a proof of income document to open a UBL Smart Account?
    • No, you simply have to accept a self-declaration before beginning the account opening process.
  • Can I open more than one account?
    • No, you can only have a single UBL Smart Account.
  • Can I open a UBL Smart Account if I already have an account with UBL?
    • No, you cannot open a UBL Smart Account if you already have an account with UBL.
  • Can I open a UBL Smart Account if I am a resident Pakistani but my place of birth is not Pakistan?
    • Unfortunately, if your place of birth is other than Pakistan you will not be able to open a UBL Smart Account. However, you may open an account through any UBL branch.
  • Do I have to visit the branch to open a UBL Smart Account?
    • No, you can conveniently open a UBL Smart Account from the UBL Digital App.
  • What type of account can I apply for using this service?
    • You can apply for a Conventional or an Islamic variant of the UBL Smart Account.

  • Does this account come with a debit card?
    • Yes, you can opt for a Debit Card during the account opening process.
  • What are the charges for selecting a debit card?
    • The charges are as per SOC available at https://www.ubldigital.com/More/ScheduleofCharges
  • Where will I receive my debit card?
    • Your debit card will be delivered to your current mailing address if you have ordered one.
  • How do I activate my debit card?
    • You can activate your debit card from the UBL Digital App. Go to ‘Accounts’ and then ‘Card Management’.
  • I have not received my debit card even though I opted for one.
    • Your debit card will be delivered to your current mailing address if you have ordered one. You can reach out at digital.support@ubl.com.pk and we will be happy to help you.

TRANSACTIONS, LIMITS, AND CHARGES

  • What kind of transactions can I perform using this account?
    • You can transfer funds to anyone, pay bills, top-up your mobile, make donations and perform all other transactions available on the UBL Digital App.
  • What is the maximum credit balance limit for UBL Smart Account?
    • The maximum credit balance limit is PKR 1,000,000.
  • What is the monthly debit limit for UBL Smart Account?
    • The monthly debit limit is PKR 1,000,000.
  • Is there a minimum account balance requirement?
    • No, there is no minimum account balance required for this account.
  • Will I be charged for transactions and cash withdrawals?
    • The charges are as per SOC available at https://www.ubldigital.com/More/ScheduleofCharges

  • Can I open a UBL Smart Account from overseas?
    • No, this account is only available for resident Pakistanis.

FORGOT USERNAME OR PASSWORD

  • I have forgotten my password. How can I reset it?
    • Open the UBL Digital App. Tap on ‘Forgot Password?’ shown on the login screen, then tap on ‘Set/Reset Password’ to create a new one.
  • I have forgotten my username. How can I recover it?
    • Open the UBL Digital App. Tap on ‘Forgot Password?’ shown on the login screen, then tap on ‘Recover Username’ to retrieve your username.

OTHER QUESTIONS

  • How can I select another branch besides the one suggested?
    • We have suggested a branch closest to you however, you can select another branch by tapping on “Select another branch”.
  • Why is it required to provide my email address?
    • We send all important communication including OTPs via email.
  • I am unable to provide my biometrics on the UBL Digital App.
    • You can provide your biometric verification by visiting any UBL branch. Our branch staff will be happy to help you.
  • What happens if I am not able to provide a selfie, or if my selfie cannot be verified?
    • After 3 unsuccessful retries customers can skip the selfie verification step and will be allowed to proceed. Once the account is opened a relationship manager will reach out for further verification and remove any restraints on the account.
  • What should I do if I do not receive an OTP?
    • You can tap on ‘Help’ on the OTP screen to receive another one.
  • Can I track the status of my application?
    • Your account will be activated instantly. However, in case of any delays, we will notify you via email.
  • Why does the app require access to my location?
    • Since customers can only open a UBL Smart Account from within Pakistan with a valid Pakistani SIM, the app requires access to your phone’s location services.
  • Where can I provide feedback regarding my experience?
