  • The cheque book/debit card will be processed/dispatched only after the customer performs the first remittance transaction. Delivery time varies depending on the customer's destination.
• If my passport is expired, will I still be eligible to enroll for Roshan Digital Account?
  • No. A valid passport is required to get the account activated.
• Are there any courier charges for the delivery of cheque book/debit card?
  • Delivery charges of PKR 5,250 will be applied where the customer requests a cheque book only. In the case of an FCY account, the equivalent amount will be charged.
• Will WHT be exempted for Cash Withdrawal and Non-Cash transactions for a Roshan Digital Account?
  • Yes, WHT will be exempted.
• Can I deposit funds into Roshan Digital Account (RDA) from within Pakistan or through UBL Digital App used by a domestic customer?
  • No. Funds can only be remitted from outside Pakistan or transferred between two NRP/RDA accounts owned by the same person.
• Is there any Tax exemption on Roshan Digital Account?
  • 10% WHT will be deducted on profit credited from government bonds/certificates. There is no requirement for tax filing like other customers.
• Is compulsory deduction of Zakat, under Zakat & Ushr Ordinance 1980, applicable on RDA?
  • No. Compulsory deduction of Zakat is not applicable on RDA (both FCVA and NRVA), according to the cited provisions in the source.

Account Features (PKR) Account

• Can I open more than one account?
  Yes. Multiple PKR accounts can be opened on a single CNIC, however one account request needs to be processed completely and verified before another request can be initiated.
• Can I open Joint account?

• Can I deposit funds from within Pakistan in this account?
  No. Funds can only be remitted from outside Pakistan or funds can be transferred between two NRP accounts owned by the same person.
• Does this account come with ATM card?
  Yes. While filling digital account opening form at www.ubldigital.com, customer will select if Debit card is required.
• What are the charges for UBL Debit Card and Cheque Book?

• Where I will receive my Debit card?
  Debit card will be delivered at your current international or domestic address.
• Does this account offer cheque book facility?
  Yes. While filling digital account opening form at www.ubldigital.com , customer will select if Cheque book is required. However, Cheque book / debit card shall be processed / dispatched only after the customer performs the first remittance transaction in the account.
• Where I will receive my Cheque book?
  Cheque book will be delivered at your current international or domestic address.
• Can I have access to Net Banking or UBL Digital App?
  Yes, once your account is opened, you will receive email for Net banking & UBLDigital App.
• What kind of transactions I can perform from this account?
  You can transfer funds to anyone, Bill payment, Mobile top-up, Zakat & Donation payments and all other transactions that are available in Net banking & UBLDigital App.
• How can I take my funds back in originating account?
  Repatriation of funds option will be available in Net banking under NRP services tab.
• What is the Turnaround Time for repatriation of funds?
  It will take maximum 5 working days.
• How can I start investing in shares?
  • You first have to open Central Depository Company account for which you can place the request that is available under NRP services tab.
  • Once Central Depository Company confirms you regarding your Central Depository Company and selected broker account opening, you can transfer funds to Central Depository Company account through option available under NRP services tab.

UBL Roshan Apni Car

• How can apply for UBL Roshan Apni Car?
  You can apply through UBL website or through email. UBL representative will contact you.
• Who can avail UBL Roshan Apni Car?
  You can avail Car financing facility by opening Roshan Digital Account in PKR currency.
• What are financing options of UBL Roshan Apni Car?
  You have following financing options

  • Segment 1: Lien Based Financing
  • Segment 2: Non Lien Based Financing
• What is Lien Based Segment?
  In lien based segment, you have to make investment in Islamic /conventional Naya Pakistan Certificates or balance in your Roshan Digital Account in Pak Rupees equivalent to the financing amount which will be lien / pledge equal to the tenure of financing. You cannot premature the certificate or withdraw/repatriate the funds from your Roshan Digital Account until the maturity or full settlement of the financing.
• What is Non-Lien Based Segment?
  In this segment financing will provided on the basis of your income and remittances. You will be eligible if you have remitted atleast three consecutive remittances to your family member in Pakistan.
• Basis and Documentation of Financing?
  You (RDA Holder) will be Main Applicant and your family member will be the Co Applicant. Both will sign off the legal agreements and other documents. You (RDA Holder) have to provide the proof of relationship with Co Applicant.
• How financing is Shariah Compliant?
  Financing is based on Shariah Compliant mode of Diminishing Musharakah.
• How Vehicle will be delivered and registered?
  You will give authorization to Co-applicant (family member: Parent, Spouse, Children, Real Siblings) for dealing with bank in Pakistan and to take the delivery of vehicle. The vehicle will be registered in the name of co-applicant residing in Pakistan.
• What is the maximum limit of financing of UBL Ameen Drive?
  Maximum Rs. 8,000,000/-
• What is the tenure of the financing?
  Minimum 1 year and Maximum 7 years Non Lien segment and Maximum 5 Years for Lien Based Segment.
• How much initial down payment do I have to make?
  Minimum 15% for lien based segment. For Non lien based segment, Minimum 15% for New (Locally manufactured) and 20% for Used/Imported Segment.
• Who will evaluate the price of Used, Imported /Reconditioned cars?

• What is a Trading Account and what is its purpose?
  A Trading Account is opened on behalf of the Investor with a broker and is used for trading in shares.
• What is Unique Identification Number (UIN) and its purpose?
  In order to authenticate each trade and transaction executed in the stock market, NCCPL registers investors by assigning a UIN. Registered UINs are provided to the stock exchange by NCCPL and it is mandatory for brokers to enter UIN while trading.
• What is a Custody Account and what is its purpose?
  A Custody Account is a shares custody account opened with CDC.
• What is Direct Settlement Service (DSS) and what role does it play in Roshan Digital Account?
  Direct Settlement Service is a web based service through which IAS Account Holders can settle their trades executed at Stock Exchange directly through their respective IAS Account.   You will be contacted directly by your broker regarding its Fee and Commission Structure and other trading details. Please note that before the opening of your Trading Account, broker will perform its own due diligence and may ask for more details / information.
• Do I need to do anything else before initiating my first trade?
  Before you initiate your first trade, you have to initiate a Fund Transfer request from your UBL Roshan Digital Account to CDC Bank Account maintained with your bank (details of which were provided with the Account Opening Package).
• How do I initiate my first trade / purchase transaction?
  You can purchase shares through broker’s online trading app / portal easily within the amount transferred by you to CDC.
• How long after my purchase will I receive the shares in my CDC account?
  At T+2 (2 business days after transaction), CDC will pay cash on your behalf against the purchase and will receive shares in your CDC Account. CDC will notify you about the transaction.
• How do I sell shares?
  You can sell your already purchased shares through your broker’s online trading app / portal easily.
• When do I receive the cash against my sale?
  At T+2 (2 business days after transaction), CDC will transfer the shares out of your CDC Account and will receive cash on your behalf, which will be readily available for any further transactions.
• How do I receive my Corporate Action entitlements?
  All Corporate Action entitlements will be credited in your CDC Account. Your Cash Dividends will also be made available with CDC. All information regarding Corporate Actions will be provided to your bank and will be available to you through CDC Access web portal and app.
• How do I pay broker’s commission?
  CDC will pay your broker’s commission from the cash transferred by you from your UBL Roshan Digital Account to CDC bank account.
• What are NCCPL’s charges and how do I pay them?
  NCCPL charges are applicable on the clearing of trades and will be deducted by CDC, details of which will be provided to you. For schedule of NCCPL’s fee and charges, please refer to www.nccpl.com.pk

How to Reactivate a Dormant Account

  Yes, it can be done in a few simple steps.

NAYA PAKISTAN CERTIFICATES (NPCS) VIA UBL ROSHAN DIGITAL ACCOUNT

• What are Naya Pakistan Certificates (NPCs)?
  • NPCs are government-backed investment instruments available through UBL Roshan Digital Accounts. They offer risk-free returns, flexible tenures, and are available in multiple currencies.
• What types of certificates can I invest in?
  You can choose between:

  • Conventional NPCs
  • Islamic NPCs (INPCs) based on the Mudarabah model
• What currencies and minimum investments are available?
  • USD / GBP / EUR: Min. 1,000 | Multiples of 500
  • PKR: Min. 10,000 | Multiples of 1,000
• What are the returns?
  • Conventional NPCs: Fixed gross annual return, published on UBL’s website.
  • Islamic INPCs: Expected profit rates based on weightages and Shariah-compliant structures.
• How is profit shared in Islamic NPCs?
  Based on Mudarabah Pool:

  • Yes, request can be processed via UBL Digital App or UBL Netbanking.

• What are the cut-off timings for investment?
  • Requests must be submitted by 1:00 PM (Pakistan Standard Time)
  • Requests after 1:00 PM are processed the next working day
  • The timing of Ramadan may vary from the above and is communicated approximately one month prior to the start of Ramadan.
• What key terms should I be aware of?
  • Scrip-less certificates issued by SBP/INPCCL
