FAQ’s – Government Hajj Scheme 2026

Q.1 What is the application timeline for Govt. Hajj Scheme 2026?

The Online Hajj applications will be collected from 04-09 August, 2025 through any of the UBL branches.

Q.2 What is the application fee and dues for Government Hajj Scheme 2026 for Regular Hajj Scheme and Sponsorship Hajj Scheme?

The dues for Govt. Hajj Scheme 2026 as announced by the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MORA) are as follows:

Hajj dues under Regular scheme (only) will be collected from applicants in 02 installments.

Q.3 Does UBL have account where I can remit USD from aboard under sponsorship program?

All hajj dues collected under sponsorship Scheme must be remitted to following account.

Q.4 Can I deposit foreign currency from Pakistan for Sponsorship Scheme?

No, applicants or sponsors are required to deposit Hajj dues in USD remitted from abroad only and shall not be allowed to deposit the Hajj dues from the foreign currency accounts in Pakistan.

Q.5 What are the documents required for Government Hajj Scheme 2026?

All the following documents must be available with all applicants:

  • All Hajj applicants must submit 03 clear colored 4x3 cm photograph (70% of the photograph must display the applicant’s face) with light BLUE background, without any stamp or signature on its face. Polaroid and/or blurred pictures are not acceptable. Applicant’s Date of birth must be before March 01, 2014.
  • Women must cover their head, hair, ears and neck in the photograph.
  • Four additional pictures must be available with all applicants at the time of arrival in Saudi Arabia besides the ones submitted with the Machine Readable International Passport (MIRP). Applicants are also required to write their Hajj application number and name on the back of each picture.
  • Three (03) pictures should be pasted and NOT STAPLED on the spaces provided on Hajj application form. Computer scanned photographs are not allowed to be pasted on Hajj application form.
  • Machine Readable International Passport (MRIP) must be valid up to 26-11-2026.
  • CNIC /NICOP should be Valid up to 26-11-2026
  • Children / minor under the age of 12 years (born after 01-03-2014) are not permitted to participate in Hajj 2026 as per the directions issues by the Saudi Government.
  • Medical fitness certificate along with COVID-19 vaccination details to be attested by a Medical Officer of any Federal/ Provincial Government/ Semi Government/ Armed Forces/ Autonomous Bodies/ Corporation’s Hospital, it should be noted that medical certificates from Private (practice) Doctors will not be acceptable; The medical certificate should have details of health profile of the applicant for communicating to the Saudi authorities as per Saudi Taleemat to generate electronic health file of the pilgrim.
  • As per Saudi Taleemat (instructions), all required vaccination and booster doses as prescribed by Saudi Government would be ensured before departure to Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
  • No Mehram shall be required for women for Hajj 2026, as per the decision of the Council of Islamic Ideology (CII) 2023, subject to the submission of an affidavit to the effect: i) their parents or husbands allow them, ii) they are in the group of reliable families and iii) there is no threat to their dignity.
  • Physically challenged / handicapped and above 80 years’ people must nominate an attendant to travel with them. Therefore, the physically challenged person should enter the Hajj application number of their attendant in the relevant column in the Hajj application form.
  • Such applicants who have been barred from travelling abroad by any Court or placed on BL/ ECL are not entitled to proceed for Hajj.
  • In case address on CNIC is different from the current address then the current address should be provided since applicant will receive all future correspondences pertaining to Hajj 2026.
  • While filling Hajj application please ensure selection of place of departure, sect, applicant type, group category, application number of group leader, relation with nominee, affixation of Bank/ branch stamp, name- sign and employee number of branch manager and officer, branch telephone number etc.

Q.6 Who is not eligible to perform Hajj 2026?

following are the categories that will not be eligible for Hajj 2026:

  • Women who are five months and above into their pregnancy, at the time of departure for Hajj.
  • People suffering from any sort of communicable/ contagious diseases/ mental illness. Furthermore, people suffering from TB, acute asthma, severe heart conditions, uncontrollable diabetes, and blood pressure.
  • Children under age of 12 (born after March 01, 2014)

Q.7 What is the age limit to perform Hajj?

Minimum age limit is 12 years (born before March 01, 2014). Physically challenged / handicapped or 80 and above years of age (subject to medical fitness) shall only be allowed to proceed for Haji with an attendant.

Q.8 Is it mandatory for female pilgrim in all sects to be accompanied by a Mehram?

No Mehram shall be required for women for Hajj 2026 subject to the following conditions:

  • their parents or husbands allow them
  • they are in the group of reliable females
  • there is no threat to their dignity, as per the decision the Council of Islamic Ideology

Q.9 What is a Group?

Anybody can apply singly; however, two or more people (up to 14) can form a Group and apply together as well. However, sponsorship scheme applicants have to form a group with other sponsorship applicants and regular scheme applicants have to form a group with other regular scheme applicants. Combination of sponsorship and regular applicants will not be considered in group.

Q.10 I want to perform Qurbani during Hajj as well. How to go about it?

Successful Hajj applicants will have to make arrangements of Qurbani on their own in Saudi Arabia. Government of Saudi Arabia has dedicated few organizations which will support Hajis in the country. However, if a pilgrim opts for Qurbani with additional amount, it will be managed MORA.

Q.11 Can an applicant opt for optional facilities?

Yes, this year the intending pilgrims can opt for following facilities:

  • If facility is not provided due to un-availability, the amount will be refunded.

Q.12 Can I visit branch for filling of Hajj Application?

All UBL branches will be facilitating in filing of Hajj Application.
