UBL UAE Team visit to Al Mamzar Community Centre for the Elderly - 23rd June 2015.

As part of the UBL UAE’s CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) program, a group of UBL Staff visited the Al Mamzar Community Centre for the Elderly, in Dubai on Tuesday, 23rd June 2015.

Through various engagement activities, the UBL CSR program aims at increased direct and periodic interaction of UBL staff especially with Senior Citizens of the local community at Elderly homes, Labourers of different nationalities working in UAE and living in labour camps requiring moral support and encouragement and Special Needs individuals living in purpose built homes and hospitals. Our aim is to spend quality time with people and put a smile on their faces while leaving behind loving memories.

On arrival, Senior doctors and management at the elderly home, Dr. Shahid and Dr. Salwa Alsuwaidi warmly greeted the UBL team and took them around the centre and its various sections, while sharing details and information on functioning of the Centre, the routine activities of the Senior citizens and the facilities/care provided to the residents by the Centre. They were highly appreciative and thankful to UBL and the visiting UBL team for taking time out to visit the Centre. The UBL team was informed that while all needs and requirements of the Senior citizen’s are very well taken care-off by the Centre which is supported by the Government of Dubai - UAE, the gesture of visiting them especially during the Holy month of Ramadan and spending time with the elderly was certainly a true reflection of thoughtfulness and warmth by UBL and team.

As a token of love and affection, Team UBL also distributed individually packed gift hampers which were prepared in-house. The epic moment of the visit arrived when the team announced that UBL has also arranged a Magic show for the residents – there were smiles, giggles, laughter, cheers and clapping all around and all through the magic show which was performed by a leading professional magician. The residents appreciated the gifts and were extremely thrilled and happy with the magic show, which they said was a very caring gesture by UBL.

This initiative was planned & executed by the S&Q Intl’. Team; a special thanks to Sheikh Muhammad Liaque (GM UAE & Acting Head of Middle East) for supporting this event and Ms. Fouzia Sharaf (HR UAE) for her help and support in the arrangements and coordination with the Elderly Centre staff and residents.
